Training your new addition is one of the single most important steps you can take to becoming a responsible and happy new pet parent. We will touch a few of the basic areas of training on this page that every new parent must know. Most every single dog we place will come crate trained and at the very least with a foundation of basic obedience.
Pack Order
Pack order is something that every pet owner should know about no matter the size of dog you own. From Chihuahua to Great Dane pack order should be something you practice in your household and learn to master. Pack order would be the order in which the house runs from head to tail. For those that are new to this term a similar comparison would be the order of operations in a company from the CEO down to the Employee. If your thinking guessing your dog is the CEO and your the Employee your incorrect. Every single human being in the home should be established above all pets, NO EXCEPTIONS! A common issue we run into on a daily basis in our line of work is the pack order being all out of order. Often times we find the human members of the family playing the overworked employee to the head honcho on 4 legs...sometimes even 3 and in 2 cases, 2 legs and a rear end wheel chair. It always amazes me no matter how many times I see it, that human beings let their pets run all over them and run the day to day operations of their homes. This is why Pack Order is so very very important.
